Important Notice Regarding Mask Mandate in Texas

Texan Vein & Vascular has always strived to provide the best and safest Vascular Care in Central Texas. During the Covid-19 crisis, we established important protocols to care for our patients and to ensure the safety of our staff. We want to assure you that those processes will not change on March 10 when Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-34 lifts COVID-19 restrictions across the state. It is prudent to continue masking to protect our patients and staff.

At Texan Vein & Vascular we will continue to practice evidence-based tactics for controlling the spread of COVID-19, including universal masking and screening of all colleagues and visitors, as has been our policy for the last year. Patients and those accompanying a patient that refuse to wear a mask will not be seen in the office.

Our position is based on hard data and science. It aligns with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the advice of infectious disease specialists, as well as our medical and scientific leaders, to leave masking mandates in place for now. Science shows that community spread of this virus could increase the risk of mutations, posing potentially new and dangerous challenges and placing further burden on our healthcare systems that have already taken on so much in the last year.

The pandemic is not over, and our proven safety measures still need to remain in effect. While the vaccine rollout is promising, to date only a small fraction of our community is vaccinated. We urge everyone to stay vigilant in protecting their own health, as well as the health of family members, healthcare providers and our community by practicing proven tactics, including wearing a mask, frequent hand washing, maintaining social distancing and staying home when sick.

Our patient’s safety is our top priority at Texan Vein and Vascular and together we can work together for everyone’s health and safety.

Sincerely,

The Texan Vein & Vascular Team
